King of fuji music, Adewale Ayuba has described artistes like D'banj and Davido as fuji artistes too and not hip hop. In a chat with entertainment magazine; Global Excellence, Ayuba said:'If you are conversant with the happenings in the Nigerian entertainment industry, you will find out that all my brothers that claim they are doing hiphop like D'banj, Davido and the rest are all fuji singers. When you listen to the way they sing, you can see that the voice is fuji'. 'The beat they put behind it is what
changes it to hip hop and R&B. What they are doing here is 'tungba' because immediately you press play, you start dancing all the way' 47-year old Ayuba, who has had a successful fuji music career span over two decades recently released a remix to one of his classics, "Happy People" which features artiste Tm9ja and YSG's rap artiste Vector.
After what seems like umpteen years year, Waje has finally released her debut album, Word Aren’t Just Enough.
The album is available on iTunes, and features appearances from Tiwa
Savage, Burna Boy, MI, Phyno, Eva Alordiah, J-Martins & Sarkodie.
The full album is 14 tracks long.
From the previously released singles, the album has all the makings
of a great buy, and the next couple of weeks will tell how well the
album is received, and it’ll give Waje a chance to solidify her status
as the Queen of African Soul.
Tracklisting:
The
name Lanre Hassan may not ring a bell, but Iya Awero will surely send
signals down the spine. Lanre Hassan, also known as Iya Awero, is a
veteran in Nollywood.
She can also best be described as a cross-over actress having acted both in the English and Yoruba movies of Nollywood.
In June 2013, she will roll out drums to celebrate her 50 years on stage. Not too many veterans have achieved that feat.
While telling her pain in a recent interview with First Weekly
Magazine, the talented screen mother disclosed how she lost two children
in four years which almost ruined her acting career.
"The only
thing that shook me happened in 1974, when I lost a child, while acting
on stage. He (the child) was with his paternal grandmother, he was
seven or eight years and they came to call me that he died that night, I
had to rush down to our home town.
"I lost a second child,
when Ojo Ladipo (Baba Mero) died. The two of us were at the burial, I
woke up, but my baby did not wake up. It really discouraged me, but I
summoned courage that I had been doing the work for long; I won't allow
all these to stop me.
"I believe what has happened has happened
and that God would take care of other things and take care of the rest.
It actually shook me to the extent that I almost quit acting," she
narrated.

With the glitz, glamour and success now associated with his comedy
enterprise, Bright Okpocha’s failed attempt to build a career in music
is now firmly behind him.
The grass keeps getting greener for
Comedian Bright Okpocha, better known as Basketmouth. It’s part of his
rising profile that Okpocha recently hosted Comedy Central in South
Africa. Known for his witty retorts and rib-cracking jokes, it wasn’t
difficult to single him out in the award-winning list of entertainers as
the first Nigerian comedian to host this high-profile comedy show in
South Africa. Coming shortly after he became anchor for MTV’s The Big
Friday Show, this is incontrovertible evidence that Basketmouth is on
the brighter side of life.
Road to Fame Rough
Not born into
wealth, the road to fame was hardly a smooth one for the Abia State
indigene. After several failed attempts in music as a drummer and
rapper, Bright deployed his funny antics as a means of livelihood.
Though, his first stage performance in 1999 was a total flop, it didn’t
deter the young comedian who was then a protégé of renowned comedian Ali
Baba.
Undeterred, he kept scratching the
surface of his comic potential until the ingrained talent for comedy was
brought out. From then, his journey to fame and wealth recorded one
landmark success after another. Though, modesty (and perhaps fear of the
taxman) would not allow him to admit, he is rumoured to be one of the
richest comedians in the country. One of the loudest statements
affirming this notion is his newly acquired customized 2013 Opel
Insignia automobile.
The Journey Has Been Great
Describing his voyage on the Nigerian comedy train, he said, “I can only
thank God for everything, the journey has been great. It may not be at
the same pace as I thought I would be, (but) I’m happy. I’m grateful. It
has been awesome.”
Family Life
With two children in three years of marriage to his longtime heartthrob,
it is clear that Bright definitely does not bring his comic sense home.
Particularly in the bedroom, he discharges his marital duties with
clinical finish. And the corresponding show of love from his wife can be
seen in his emerging rosy cheeks and protruding belly. Not minding his
demanding career, Bright has found a way to keep an even keel on the
domestic waters, never rocking the boat at all. This is how he describes
it: “Family life is great; they are pushing me to do all I can. I’m
doing my best to be a good father and a husband.”
Admitting that he has been invited too
often to play on the broad way of life, he confessed that there might be
pressure on his marital fidelity. “Even Jesus Christ was tempted. It’s
all about discipline and self-control. It’s not easy I can tell you.
Whenever I’m in or out of town, I restrict myself to what I’m there for.
I try not to expose myself. The moment you expose yourself, you are
likely to fall.”
He refused to say categorically if he has found himself in that moment
of weakness. With a skilled parry, he sidestepped the question. “By the
Grace of God,” was all he offered.
‘Everyday is Valentine for Me and My Wife’
Early in his career, he learnt to separate work from home. This followed
a conviction that interference from fans and the media can put pressure
on the marriage of persons in the public eye. He found a way around it
keeping his sweetheart away from the public glare as much as possible.
Though he had no issues with disclosing his ability to keep his wife
happy all the time, he would not divulge the most expensive gift he had
bought for her. All he volunteered was that the gifts are guaranteed to
produce his expected results. “They melt her heart and make her insides
bubble. I don’t like making noise about such things but I know I make
her happy. Every day is Valentine for us. I don’t believe I should pick
out one day to celebrate love with my wife. Every time I travel or even
when I’m in town, I buy things for my wife.”
Regarding his children’s career choice, Basketmouth promised to support them as much as he can.
As many are not likely to find the truth about his self-professed
culinary skills, Basketmouth had a free reign exalting himself. “I enjoy
cooking more than movies. Cooking is more like comedy to me. As a
creative person, I love been creative in my cooking. In fact, I can make
Chinese food, so Nigerian food na small thing,” he said.
Criticisms on Twitter
While his witty narratives and enthusiastic jabs may have left some in
stitches, it may have hit others below the belt. An example is his viral
joke on President Goodluck Jonathan and the displeasure of members of
the public at his endorsement of the DANA Air celebrity flight. Also on
Twitter, it was rumoured that he got on the wrong side of popular
comedian AY over the latter’s beautiful car gift to his wife. Clearing
the air on this issue, the comedian said it was a misunderstanding that
has been resolved. “In fact, we were together two days ago; there is no
rift between us.”
Another viral joke that got the public
talking was his attack on single ladies. According to him, it’s a fake
statement made by a proxy account, which has been creating a lot of
trouble for him. “That statement was not made by me. It was a fake
Twitter account. My twitter handle is @basket_mouth. Apparently it’s a proxy account @basketmouth.
Recently, the person has been saying a lot of stuffs about Globacom.
Right now I’m being verified by Twitter and once it’s official, we will
eliminate all these proxy accounts.”
Despite the Twitter mania that has
rubbed off on Nigerian celebrities, Basketmouth revealed that he is not a
tweet bird. “I’m not very active on twitter because of the way people
throw jabs at one another. It’s a faceless forum where people from
anywhere who have had a rough day come to unleash their anger. I don’t
operate like that. I try as much as I can to stay away from Twitter. I’d
rather have someone say it to my face. Once people say anything
negative about me on Twitter, I find my way out. I don’t respond to
such.”
Nigeria’s Comedy Rules Africa
Call him aloof or arrogant, Basketmouth has a humble streak and will
always remain on top of his game. He understands that no man is an
island and we all learn from one another, which is why he takes time out
to watch other comedians. Like any other being, he has favourites, even
among the rising stars.
“The upcoming ones are really doing well
but there is still room for improvement, even I need to work on myself
as well. Everyone needs to improve on his act every single day.
Unfortunately, we do not have that platform to really go that far. But
they are all good in their own capacity. They inspire me to do more. I
learn from them as well.”
Like other arms of the entertainment
industry, the comedy industry is ridden with piracy. The ace comedian
pointed out that it is one of the major problems that has wrecked havoc
on the industry and, in a way, halted its growth. He urged the
government to implement a law that can eliminate this cankerworm and
help the industry grow. To him, Nigerian comedy rules West Africa and
Africa as a whole, (but) there is still work to be done. “We don’t have
sufficient platforms to push comedy to the next level,” he said.
Music Still in the Mix
Basketmouth started out as a drummer and a member of church choir.
Later, he discovered his flair for rap music but as fate would have it,
he never made it there. However, the passion never died as can be seen
at his shows where he occasionally raps.
Determined to achieve his music dream,
the comedian hinted on plans to release an album later in the year.
According to him, “I had a choice back then to either go into music or
do comedy. I chose standup comedy because I knew I will be doing it for
the rest of my life and I have never regretted it. I think I made the
right choice. Maybe if I had been a musician, I would have faded long
ago. What I’m trying to do with this album is to continue that journey
which I started a few years ago. I’m not doing music to become a
full-fledged musician, going on stage and all that. I just want to
complete that dream and close that chapter.”
One would expect the GLO Ambassador to
live the life of Riley with his achievements but this is not the case.
As the first Nigerian comedian to headline the Comedy Central show ‘Live
at Parker,’ Basketmouth sees it as another starting point. To him, the
journey has just started.
“This is more or less a (new) beginning
for me. Now I’m ready to do standup comedy. All I’ve been doing these
past years was to get to this point and blow out. I have done gigs
outside the country but this was a very huge platform for me. I’m so
excited about this. I have maximized the opportunity and will use it
well.”
What to expect from him at the show, the ace comedian promised something different and unique.
Over the years, Basketmouth has put his unique signature on big shows
like Basketmouth Uncensored, African Kings of Comedy and Lord of the
Ribs.
Wizkid has been confirmed for the forthcoming Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA).
The Awards are the Gold Coast's biggest music event and celebrate great and brilliant acts in the Ghanaian music industry.
The music crowd is thrilled because of the calibre of international and
local artists who perform at the event. Organizers, Charter House, have
hinted that this year Star Boy and Wizkid will grace the stage.
A source close to Charter House management noted that "for now, what I
know is that we have completed talks with Wizkid and he will definitely
be at the show to thrill the audience." They are yet to conclude on the
retinue of artists who will make the VGMA line up. Sources close to the
management of Charter House said they are still in talks with several
other musicians because they want this year’s event to be a spectacular
one.
Although there are speculations that Nigerian Alingo crooner PSquare and
Ghanaian Azonto maker, Samani, may be slugging out on the VGMA stage,
it has not been set in stone by the Charter House management.
Other artists that may perform at the 14th edition of the VGMA might
include Ghanaian hit maker Samani as well as Sarkodie and Efya. Wizkid
was recently in Ghana alongside his pal Chris Brown for the Chris Brown
Live in Ghana concert.

Annie used to sit under the tree to cry for 2face’s love …
After a failed album, Originality, he took a long break from the music
scene, only to re-surface with Re-Fazed, an album which opens a new side
to the dreadlocks wearing Faze. But this time, the dreads are gone-
here comes the ‘new born’ Faze. Read on. What have you been working on?
I’m working on my new album titled Re-Fazed. It contains a number of
tracks with the videos already shot. We are putting finishing touches to
the album, and I have already started the album promotion, shot videos
and granting radio interviews. A lot of things have been going on. I’ve
changed my management, a lot of things have been re-Fazed. What’s ‘Re-Fazed’ all about?
It’s about me and everything around me. Basically, everything that has
to do with my music has changed. It’s not like I’m not the same Faze but
my music has changed because the environment is changing. My dreadlocks
have been shaved. The kind of music I do right now is that which people
have to dance to, and my management has changed too. Why did you change your management?
I feel it’s better for me to be doing most of my stuff. I’m a very funny person. I like getting involved in my own project. How many tracks are contained in your new album?
It has 17 tracks in all. I have songs like Good Wife, Nkem and some new ones we’ve just done.
Who’s the producer?
I worked with new people because I don’t always like old hands. When I
meet new hands, I try my best working with them because I believe
challenging them will get me challenged too. I worked with a guy called
Pig Mixed, Rhyno, Kelly among others. What about doing collaborations?
I’ll do collabos but not now. It will be after releasing the album. After dropping the last single, Originality, you went off the stage, what happened?
I didn’t go off the stage. I only took my time to do some research
because when I dropped my last single and it didn’t fly the way I
expected, I quickly carried out a research. That’s why every artiste is
scared to release singles because of the fear that fans may not like
it. If you see an artiste daring to bring out an album, it means he has
confidence in himself because releasing an album is the greatest fear of
any artiste.
We are not scared and that’s why we do the best we can, we experiment
our performances with people and they tell us what they think about us.
That’s why it’s not good to ask your friends to judge your music
because they’ll always tell you it’s good. They don’t want to offend
you. But when critics descend our music, you don’t need to be told to
buckle up. When is the album dropping?
It’s out already but the problem is that people don’t know it has been
released. What we are doing at the moment is to include other songs in
the album and then, plan a proper launch. That’s where I had a problem
with my former managers. I don’t want to talk about it now. I’m working
with a new team and we are trying our best to do something new with it.
I’m trying to re-package the album and make noise with it. I’m also
trying to organize a concert starting from next month. It’s going to be a
U.S tour. Are you saying that your former manager was not good?
No, it’s not like that. We had an agreement that we should go our
different ways because I felt the way I used to run my business is
different from the way they are used to doing it. We can’t work together
because my style of doing things is different from theirs. What was the reaction you got from fans after you cut your dreadlocks?
I was scared which was normal because I didn’t know what fans would say.
People have always loved and known me with my dreadlocks. But I was
surprised because they were impressed. And when they saw me cut my
dreads, they actually knew that something new will come out of it. At
the end of the day, it’s the fans’ reaction that will determine whether
your songs and looks are good or not. And I got positive reactions
which I think is good for me. Why do you think you had to change your kind of music in order to stage a comeback?
It’s not like it’s changed. There’s a little of me that is contained in
my new song because everybody wants to dance. Even if you give birth to a
child today, she wants to dance. It’s not everybody that loves
mid-tempo songs. So, I had to mix it with dancing songs then, they can
go through the album and appreciate others. Taking you back, what was growing up like?
My parents were never poor. They cared of me and my siblings very well
and that’s why I’m trying to do same very soon. I attended Nazareth
Primary school and Festac Grammar School. I did ATS 1 & 2 in Ilaro
and later had my degree in International Relations and Diplomatic
Studies. Then I went into music. Why didn’t you practice what you studied?
Black Face told me some time ago that if I knew I wanted to do music, I
had to leave every other thing and face it. It did work out for me. God
has a calling for everyone, and I think music is my calling.
What do you mean by ‘leaving everything’?
That is I had to relocate from where I was living because we weren’t
living together at that time. I went to live with 2face and Blackface to
enable us form the Plantashun Boiz. Even there was a movie I featured
in, titled Alero’s Symphony. I insisted that I would be coming to
location from my home but the producers disagreed with me because they
wanted me to get used to the environment. So, I was on location for
about three months and that was what delayed my album. You have a degree, 2face doesn’t, and I don’t think Black Face does…
No, Black Face has a degree. What Black Face just told me was that if I
wanted to cope with Plantashun Boiz, I should forget about this because I
don’t like talking about the past. As young boys, in the Plantashun
Boiz, we were always back up to each other. If 2face wasn’t singing, I
could take his part because we have similar voices. And Black Face raps
and sings at the same time.
So, two heads are better then one. Then, as the baby of Plantashun
Boiz, I listened to whatever Black Face said, and I never see anything
wrong with that because it worked out for me. Who knows, if I wasn’t
part of the group, I might be struggling with other groups to come up
today. I attempted it and it worked but if I tried and it didn’t work
out, maybe I would have done something else. How do you feel today that 2face is a superstar as well as yourself, but Black Face is yet to hit the mark?
Black Face is also going to be big. Everybody seems to be supporting
him financially, and it takes a lot for people to believe in you. Black
Face wrote almost all the songs we had in our first album, so, he has
potentials. He has management challenges and people that believe in him.
We must be frank, we have some junk music in the industry but they sell
because they have financial backups to pay for publicity and other
things. These days, if you are bringing out an album, it has to be well
packaged, it has to generate noise. I’m working on something with him
to make sure he bounces back. Since you know his problem, why didn’t you…?
He’s going to be big. Everybody has his time But don’t you think it’s getting too late?
Nothing is too late. He just needs a single and I’m working with him on
his album because he was involved in my career. I remember when I wanted
to go for a singing competition. I was young and scared of the
unexpected because there were so many ladies there that could sing
well. I didn’t want to involve myself because I noticed judges were
usually partial when it comes to ladies.
It was a live performance but Black Face encouraged me to go ahead.
He accompanied me to the competition and I won at the end of the day.
So, it’s the same spirit that I’m trying to give back to him. Whenever,
we sit and write songs together, he writes in a different dimension. I
think the only thing he needs to do is take his time and not to be in a
hurry. It appears you are more passionate about Black Face than 2face?
No, it’s not like that. 2Face is already big and Black Face will still
grow. Most of the times when he’s down, I sit with him because I know
his kind of person. He has talent and he has his fans. What is left is
for him to give his fans the right music to listen to and enjoy.
He made me grow, and I don’t want to say I don’t care about anybody
but I’m a kind of person that I don’t forget my benefactors. Sometimes,
God directs me to give to people and I do it because I know there’s
blessing behind it. It was Black Face who made me join Plantashun Boiz
and that’s why I’m known today. So why didn’t you speak with 2face to lend him a support?
What he needs isn’t financial support. We are working together to bring out the right songs. What’s 2face doing about it?
I’m sure both of them meet to discuss on their own, you know they are
from the same area. I can only speak for myself that whatever I do for
Black Face, I’m not helping myself, he’s helping me. I’m still going to
do one or two songs with 2face in future. But I’m doing everything to
make sure things work out well for Black Face. We are all looking for
money to take care of our responsibilities. The highest we can do is
work together and make more money. Black Face has been helpful to me
even financially so, it’s on both sides. Why were you and Black Face absent at Tuface’s Dubai wedding?
I was in Dubai but got to the venue very late. I had other functions I
was attending to. People saw me because we were together at the club.
Black Face has his own reason he didn’t make it. But you are his friend and you should know better
He must have his reasons. Maybe, he didn’t have money for the ticket…?
It’s not about the money because tickets don’t cost that much. He must
have his own reasons. Tuface had his reasons he didn’t invite him too.
After all, when Black Face did his wedding, none of us was there. Now, that 2face and Black Face are married, what are you waiting for?
I’ll do that very soon. I thought you said you had a girl you were dating for years and you’d get married to?
I’ve never dated any girl for years in my whole life. Besides, I don’t
have to date anybody for years before knowing who she is. That’s why I
wrote a song called Good Wife. I know the qualities of a good wife, and
it’s only God that can show you who a good wife is because you know
most of our young ladies pretend only to change after the wedding. I
know my wife. It’s not that I’m perfect. Meaning that someone is in your life…
Yes, I don’t play with that. But what if I want to marry her but she
isn’t ready for it? Both of us have our lives to live but what matters
is that we love each other. I didn’t say I have another girl. She’s a
wife to be by God’s grace. It’s not that my mum has to approve her. It’s
just for her to pray because God determines everything we do in life. I
do things at my own time and make sure that person is ready to do it
too. So when is your time?
I won’t say anything now but it’ll happen at the right time. How come you and Black Face are reserved with girls but 2face isn’t?
Tuface is also a cool headed person. The girls who got pregnant for him
knew what to do to avoid pregnancy but they didn’t. That means they
wanted the babies. They wanted him to marry them?
It’s all about choice when he decided to marry Annie. I’ve known Annie
for years and I think she’s perfect for him. There were times she would
sit under the tree, crying and asking me if 2face really loved her. Even
when 2face was dating Annie, Black Face and I were equally dating
two of Annie’s friends. But we didn’t marry those girls but 2face and
Annie eventually got married. That’s life for you. How do you cope with girls?
It’s not easy. They come, want to get very intimate and ready to do
anything. Some of them already have boyfriends, and some are even
married but I know the rules. So, what I do is to invite them to my
shows and they see me. Some of them just wants their parents to see me.
There was a girl that her mother always calls me and prays for me over
the phone. So, considering all the prayers I get from mostly elderly
people, I don’t think any evil can happen to me in this life. So since you are still single…
No, I’m not single. I have a fiancee and I’m marrying her by God’s grace. How does your fiancee cope at your shows?
No she can’t go to my shows because it’s not right. I’m not a public
person and I can never take my wife to-be to my events. And that’s why I
can’t marry an entertainment person because we can’t be doing the same
thing. Maybe, you don’t want her to get jealous
She can’t get jealous because she’s a matured person. I don’t go out
with kids and I can’t date a girl that’s not intelligent because it’s
going to affect my career, and even our kids will be dull. I like a lady
who can help organize my life.
Star Boy himself, Ayodeji ‘Wizkid’ Balogun seems not to be joking in his
ambition of building an Entertainment dynasty with the recent signing
of Super Producers, LEGENDURY BEATS (Mutay & Zei) to his new record
label, STARBOY Entertainment just after signing UK Based producer,
Maleek Berry.

Victoria Beckham is apparently missing her husband David “like crazy”.
The fashion designer and her four children have been living in London for the past few months, while soccer star David is with his new club in Paris. Spending time apart has been tough for Victoria, particularly because she didn’t see him on her 39th birthday last week.
“Vic understood why he couldn’t be there, but it was the first time she’d spent her birthday without him in 13 years and it really upset her,” a source told heat magazine. “Vic doesn’t like to spend so long away from him, and the fact he also missed her birthday was upsetting.
“David and Victoria have both been incredibly busy in the last few months. When they were in LA, they had more family time, but since their move to the UK – and David’s new job in Paris – it’s made things much more difficult. Vic misses him like crazy.”
Victoria spent her birthday in London with her children and close pal Tana Ramsay, the wife of celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay. The group enjoyed dinner at upmarket Japanese restaurant Nobu in Mayfair, and she visited a health club earlier in the day.
“Of course she loved spending it with her kids and Brooklyn has been a great support to her, helping out with Harper, but it wasn’t the same as them all being together as a family,” the source added.
David “pulled out all the stops” to make up for not being there and planned a special trip for Victoria and the children to visit him in Paris last weekend.
The whole family were seen enjoying a spot of sightseeing around the City of Lights last Saturday.
“David loves Vic more than anything, but his career is important to him, too. He didn’t want to miss her birthday and wanted to make it up to her,” revealed an insider.

Justin Bieber
seems to have gotten himself into another spot of bother after Swedish
Police discovered drugs and a stun gun aboard his tour bus on Wednesday
night.
According to reports, an on-duty police officer smelt
cannabis coming from the empty tour bus which was parked outside
Bieber’s hotel – whilst the teenage pop sensation was performing in the
country’s capital, Stockholm as part of his world tour.
Drugs
police were then put on alert and forced to search the bus, where a
small amount of marijuana and an unlicensed stun gun were found.
Police spokesman Varg Jyllander told Sky News: “They found a small amount of drugs and a stun gun.” “Now the drugs are sent over to the forensics lab and before we have the analysis results we won’t (comment further).” “It was a small stun gun and in this country you need a permit to carry one or have one and they hadn’t.”
No arrests have been made and Bieber and his team are said to be free to leave the country.
According to Global News magazine; in a
typical African society like ours, there are certain norms and behaviour
expected of married women, and there are those looked upon as taboos
especially when the women are not in
company of their husbands. It is therefore surprising that more than
three years after she tied the knot, Ini Edo Ehiagwina is still of the
belief that she is still that explosive single lady.
These
days, Ini Edo has been caught behaving more irresponsibly than when she
was still a spinster. The plump dark-skinned actress who got married to
Philip Ehiagwina, a US-based Nigerian divorcee has not come to terms
three years into her marriage that she’s actually married, as she has at
several times be sighted very odd hours at clubs in drunken state.
The Calabar-born actress had reduced her club life to the barest
minimum immediately she got married, but her recent appearance at clubs
is raising suspicions that all may not be too well with her marriage.
She was sighted at Club 10, Victoria Island in Lagos on the March 28,
around 1a.m. and the state she was found in was not befitting a married
woman. Sporting a black mini gown with white collar, Ini Edo arrived at
the club dead drunk; she was in such a drunken state that she could not
stand upright and could only stagger to her seat.
Those around
could not help but comment that the Nollywood actress might have just
rediscovered her appetite for booze as she would not leave until she had
soaked herself in alcohol. They were wondering aloud as to the reason
she decided to plunge herself back into a habit she worked so hard to
get out of initially. It is not new that Ini Edo was a club and booze
freak while she was single, but in her bid to launch herself into the
married class, she had put a stop to the kind of life she was known for
as a spinster and the return to the lifestyle may mean the rumour that
all is not well with the marriage may after all not be unfounded.
Philip her husband who is based in the United States of America, has of
late not been regular in the country and this may be adding strain to
the union, with Ini Edo knowing fully well her husband’s prowess with
women, a reason she had fought many ladies before and after their
wedding to stay off her man. It is no secret how she was able to win the
man from his first marriage to Ruth Okoro, how she had to fight a
female journalist she thought was getting too close to the man before
the marriage and how she warned several of her Nollywood friends to stay
off her man after the marriage proper. And his continuous stay in
America may have forced so many thoughts into her mind, which could be
the reason she’s back to her reckless self.
It was even alleged
that her inability to conceive after three years of marriage may also
be mounting pressure on her relationship as it is suspected that the
husband’s family has started raising eyebrows. Ini Edo and Philip tied
the nuptial knots in 2009 in the United States of America after their
traditional marriage in 2008. Her failure to have an issue was initially
said to be due to Ini Edo’s work and the husband residing abroad but
three years down the line, tongues have started wagging and this may be
having its own effect on the actress.
Wow!
She was a year older yesterday. No one else but the enigma who has made
a great impact in the make-believe industry called Nollywood in Nigeria
and beyond, Stella Damasus. The mother
of two beautiful girls, Isabel and Angelica, marked her 35th birthday
Yesterday and in celebration of that happy moment; she posted an epistle
about herself on her blog. She explained her good and bad times with
God and humanity.
She expressed how she’s being judged by many
and being celebrated by just a few. Not only that, the thespian of note
called Stella touched a very sensitive issue that is affecting humanity,
“The world around us has changed so much and it is so scary. People are
killing young children, women, old folks; other are bombing places to
kill innocent people who don’t even know them; some are kidnapping, most
are rap1ng, more are killing their wives, brothers are killing brothers
because of land and money, fathers are beginning to lust after their
daughters, women find more comfort in their drivers than their husbands,
pastors are loving the choir leaders, men prefer s3x with other men and
have decided to do it openly, women just hate one another for no reason
and so many other unthinkable things that make our parents shudder at
just the thought of it.”
Well, Stella is now in love with a
certain prophet called Ezekiel in the Bible. In her write up, she
explained how she is now being guided by the principle of the prophet of
God.
Stella closed her write up with, “Like I said, I am not a
pastor but I am living by this principle in Ezekiel chapter 3 vs. 17
–21
God bless you all and thank you for all your birthday wishes. I love you.”
