A Japanese hair salon is rewriting the meaning of cutting edge after taking fashion inspiration from the humble tomato. The innovative design has emerged from Osaka's trendy Amemura district and is already spreading across the internet. Stylist Hiro says the hairdo, called 'Ripe Tomatoes' or kanjuku tomato in Japanese, is his masterpiece.
The look involves cutting the hair into a rounded crop before dying it bright tomato red. Sections from the crown are then shaped and coloured green to resemble a tomato's stalk. Sadly, like the fruit, the style has a shelf life. The red and the green fades quickly and the 'leaves' are difficult to shape after being washed. Ripe Tomatoes is one of a number of bold designs to emerge from the salon Trick Store.

when one of their darling actresses, Camila Mberekpe, allegedly
confessed to being An idol. The incident reportedly happened on Sunday,
April 28, 2013, and it was beamed live on Emmanuel TV, a religious
cable station run by TB Joshua's church. Camila allegedly confessed to
have been responsible for her daughter's dwindling career. What
reportedly surprised worshippers of the church was the fact that Camila

what young entreprenuers could learn from the man, who has built his
business empire from the ground up.
Dr Mike Adeniyi Ishola Adenuga Jr. (GCON), Chairman of the Mike
Adenuga Group, fittingly symbolises the African enterprising spirit of
passion, unalloyed commitment, resilience and hard work.
This businessman extraordinaire thrives on the principle of hard
work, even as close associates say the billionaire works 18 hours a day.
As if to buttress that point, he said “I have worked hard most of my
life and I believe I have been very fortunate; although I must say I am a
great believer in the man who said ‘The harder you work, the luckier
you get.’” And yes, luck has indeed smiled on him.
As of March 2012, Adenuga’s grossly under estimated net worth was
$4.7 billion, according to Forbes, which said it would rather err on the
side of caution by stipulating his net worth at a “paltry” $4.7
billion. Those who claim close ties to the mogul said it would be safe
to assume the man is worth well over $100 billion. Be that as it may,
one thing is established: the business icon is super rich. It may,
therefore, amaze anyone that when he started off, he didn’t do it for
the money. That goes to teach young entrepreneurs: when you start a
business, do not make money your overall aim. “If I can be seen as
adding value to Nigerians, it is more fulfilling,” he said on a Youtube
broadcast, explaining that making money is not his topmost priority but
affecting the lives of Nigerians positively. That is another lesson to
take away from the business icon.
He believed in the tremendous possibilities of his dreams and he
rigorously pursued it. At 22, he saw business potential in commodities,
general merchandise, construction, importation of mainly sawmill
equipment, tomato paste, wines, beer and textile materials and some
other businesses he could lay his hand upon. Fast forward to four years
later, Adenuga became a millionaire at 26 and, with tentacles in high
places. With his unique flair and absolute tenacity of purpose, the
multi millionaire soon became a multi-billionaire in any currency.
Aspiring entrepreneurs would learn from Adenuga’s distinct ability to
identify and utilise opportunities. In one of his rarest interviews
with Newswatch, he narrated how this ability has helped shaped his
business acumen. “I went on a trip to New York and when I was coming
back, I missed my flight, being on British Airways, so I had to fly
Swiss Air and I sat next to the owner of one of the biggest lace
manufacturing factories in Austria. So, we were talking and he got me
interested in importing laces, and all sorts of things.” Adenuga would
later reveal that “the secret of my success is hard work, God’s
blessings and luck.”
He also understood that to be a global brand leader, you would have
to start very small. To achieve his future goal, he acted as a private
middleman who got term-based oil contracts, built military barracks, and
supplied the armed forces and the police with weapons while also
working as a distributor for Coca Cola, Nigerian Breweries, Cadbury,
Guinness and Continental Breweries. He was also a dealer for Peugeot
Automobile of France. With time, he was buoyant enough to sink over $100
million into his first oil block back in 1991.
Adenuga is not a man without challenges, yet he wouldn’t give up
until he achieved the desired objectives. Before Globacom finally
berthed in the country, many scoffed at him and told him to stop chasing
shadows. But he would not give up. According to his brother, Demola,
after he lost the bid to get his telecoms licence, “Mike never gave up
hope. He kept hope alive; that is one thing about my brother: he is an
eternal optimist. Something kept propelling him not to give up on the
matter. He pursued it and he eventually got the licence.” A young
entrepreneur would learn the power of perseverance and patience from Dr
Adenuga. Without his perseverance, Nigeria today probably would not have
heard what has been regarded as the country’s biggest corporate export
with footprints in Nigeria, Ghana, Benin Republic, Senegal, Cote
D’Ivoire and The Gambia.
Adenuga never rests on his oars and that is another lesson a young
entrepreneur can take from the business mogul. As a visionary, he is not
limiting his conquest to Africa, but is rather taking on the world as
his centre stage, creating jobs across the globe. The business mogul
invested over $3 billion in the telecommunications sector alone and
created jobs for thousands of Nigerians.
He also believes in the law of reproduction or capacity building,
saying of his The Mike Adenuga Foundation that “our aim is to find the
visionaries of tomorrow. We want to find and nurture young people with
the ideas and the drive to make a difference in Africa, in a really
hands-on way. This is the legacy I would like to leave behind.

and gas sector, for instance, Conoil Plc is one of the largest and most
profitable oil marketing companies in Nigeria.
The Guru also has a multi-billion dollar investment in real estate.
These companies provide direct employment to thousands of workers and
millions of others indirectly. In telecoms, Globacom is adjudged one of
the most innovative networks in Africa and has operations in Nigeria,
Ghana, Benin Republic, Senegal, The Gambia and Cote d’Ivoire. The
philanthropist made history in 2010 when his telecoms company
inaugurated its international submarine cable, Glo 1. No one else could
have pulled off this feat and a Youtube broadcast confirmed that much,

Adenuga is credited with the telecom revolution in Nigeria as
Globacom’s historic introduction of Per Second Billing and crashing of
SIM cost to as low as N100 led to the over 100 million phone connections
in Nigeria today. The network also pioneered such revolutionary
products as Blackberry, mobile internet and mobile banking services in
Nigeria.
One of the biggest lessons to learn from Adenuga is his legendary

Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board on Wednesday said the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination might not hold in troubled states in the North.
The examination, in which over 1, 735,720 candidates are expected to participate in will hold on Saturday.
Addressing journalists in Abuja, the JAMB Registrar/Chief Executive, Prof. ‘Dibu Ojerinde, said the board “may not hesitate to stop the examination if there is any security problem”.
Responding to a question on security challenges in the country, Ojerinde said, “Yesterday it was a big discussion among some agents as well as JAMB. We believe that things will be all right. You see, we believe that we will surmount the problem.
“If however, there is any problem, we may not hesitate to stop the examination in those areas to the extent that we will now give the children a chance of doing the examination on CBT only.
“If you miss Paper Pencil Test in a challenging area that you cannot do the examination, then you will have to do the next one and that will have to be as from May 18.
“With God, we shall not experience any problem. We have put everything humanly possible in place, we have put this before God, and we believe he is not going to sleep on that day. But if there is a need for postponement in those places, we shall not hesitate.”
There have been reported cases of violence occasioned by the activities of the insurgent group, Boko Haram, in many states in the north in recent time.
Meanwhile, Ojerinde, said the Board had concluded arrangement for its first Computer Based Test in 70 centres across the nation from May 18 to June 1.
The CBT, he said, was an alternative to the Dual Based Test and PPT scheduled for Saturday.
Ojerinde said 1,629,102 candidates applied for the IPT, 15,008 candidates for the Dual Based Test while 91,610 candidates applied for the CBT.
He said the figure for 2013 showed an increase of 231,789 applicants when compared with last year’s figure of 1,503,931 representing an increase of 13.35 per cent.
Ojerinde said 145 visually-impaired candidates registered for the examination while 196 inmates registered for it from Kaduna and Lagos prisons.
The body of the Deputy Governor of Ekiti State, Mrs. Funmi Olayinka, arrived in Ado Ekiti on Wednesday as her final rite of passage began.
Governor Kayode Fayemi, who received her corpse at the Governor’s Office, initially broke down in tears before summoning courage to eulogise the deceased.
Olayinka died of breast cancer in Lagos on April 6 at the age of 52.
The body, brought to Akure Airport aboard an Aero aircraft, was received by a delegation led by the governor’s wife, Mrs. Bisi Fayemi, and Senator Babafemi Ojudu.
The deceased daughters, Ololade, Olamide and Yeside, who were dressed in blue lace, yellow headgears and dark sun glasses, accompanied the corpse.
The casket, draped in Nigeria Flag was later taken to Ado Ekiti in a wine colour hearse accompanied by a convoy of vehicles and sympathisers.
Police outriders andOkadariders led the convoy which stopped at the secretariat of the Action Congress of Nigeria along Ajilosun Road where party executives, led by Chief Jide Awe, paid their last respect to the banker-turned politician.
The convoy later proceeded to the Governor’s Office.
At the Governor’s Office, Fayemi, who tried in vain to stop weeping, received the body of his deputy even as some others present broke down in tears.
Fayemi said, “We thank God for the arrival of our Princess, who sacrificed herself for the service of the people. On behalf of good people of Ekiti State, we cannot thank her enough. She lived a short and eventful life. We thank God for given her to us; we also thank God for taking her to the world where there would be no more worries.”

It would seem that MTN has taken a less than subtle swipe at Etisalat
in the new battle for subscribers created by the Number Portability
directive of the NCC.
MTN has managed to steal Saka the erstwhile face of Etisalat. He now
appears in the new MTN number portability advert saying he has ported
(The creative genius behind the ad must be commended).
Their radio adverts also appear to be taking a swipe at the promos being offered on other networks.
Hmmm...Congress
for Progressive Change (CPC) is claiming that Pastor Oritsejafor's
private jet - the jet that stirred up several arguments and hate remarks
on the various media platforms - was actually purchased by the Federal Government!
CPC’s national publicity secretary, Engr Rotimi Fashakin, in a
statement said the offer was a reward for the pastor’s calling for the
arrest of CPC’s presidential candidate, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari after the
post-election violence of 2011.
In press release which was
titled ‘Jonathan Regime and the Politicisation of Nigeria’s Security,’
Fashakin accused the Presidency of buying the jet which was later said
to have been bought by members Oritsejafor’s congregation.
“As a
fitting reward for that execrable service and many others, Pastor
Oritsejafor was rewarded on November 10, 2012 with the gift of a
Bombardier private jet at a ceremony in which the President was
physically present! We were later told the cleric’s congregation made
the donation." he said
Meanwhile, the presidency yesterday
dismissed allegation by the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) that
it was President Goodluck Jonathan who purchased the private jet for
Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) President, Mr. Ayo Oritsejafor as
an incoherent rambling which fits into a pattern of consistent “wolf
crying” by a defeated group that hide under the cloak of opposition.
In a swift reaction, Special Adviser to the president on media and
publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati said “The statement by Rotimi Fashakin of
the CPC is a thoroughly incoherent, stream of consciousness rambling
that serves no purpose other than that it fits into a pattern of
perpetual heckling and “wolf crying” by a defeated, unimaginative group
that hides under the guise of being an opposition."

We have reports that popular comic actor, Hafiz Oyetoro well known as Saka, has dumped the Dubai telecoms giants, Etisalat.
The multiple award winning actor has now pitched his tent with South Africa's network provider called MTN.
Saka has been on the payroll of Etisalat for over two years until his
new romance with MTN. No concrete reason was gathered for the switch but
it is being speculated that MTN may have offered Saka more money than
what Etisalat had offered him.

DC, April 21, 2013 (NAN) CBN is poised to stop the printing of small
denomination Naira in polymer notes because they fade quickly.
Its Deputy Governor, Mr Tunde Lemo, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday in Washington on the sideline of the ongoing Spring Meeting of the World Bank and the IMF.
``By the middle of the year, we will start to produce the second
generation of lower denomination notes, now in paper not in polymer.’’
``My plea is that Nigerians should exercise patience with us; it
wasn’t the fault of the CBN, it was just because we had to go back to
the drawing board to rethink `Project Cure’ in the light of the wish of
the public that we should not go ahead with the N5000 notes and lower
denomination.
``We will correct that in the course of the year. Polymer certainly
will be phased out. In fact, we are phasing out polymer. No new note is
being printed in polymer now.’’
Lemo told NAN that when the CBN was going to introduce the polymer
currencies, its search showed that they could last longer than ordinary
paper notes.
``However, with the benefit of hindsight, we probably should not have
dumped polymer because, yes, the substrate lasts longer, but the
in-consubstrate began to fade; we didn’t realise that at the time of
introduction.
`` So, part of `Project cure’ actually was actually to move away from
polymer substrate to paper, unfortunately we had a push-back because of
the issues around N5000 note and coins.
``The entire program was put in abeyance, otherwise by now we should have stopped producing polymer.’’
He said that the CBN had awarded a contract for the printing of the
higher denomination notes to a foreign company because of low capacity
at the Nigerian Printing and Minting Company.
He said the CBN would begin to receive the fresh notes from June.
On the campaign on the careful handling of the naira, Lemo said that
it was unfortunate that the campaign was not successful, but noted that
it was a criminal act to abuse the naira going by the CBN Act.
``Unfortunately, CBN is not a law enforcement institution; we left
that in the hands of the law enforcement institutions and that has not
kicked in.’’

money, I see touts distributing mint-fresh money that should go to
customers.’’
Lemo also told NAN that the CBN had talked to the police to step up
its surveillance to reduce the abuse of the naira adding that the bank
had no right to arrest people who sold the naira on the streets.
He said that the act of abuse and sale of the naira by touts had
defeated the clean note policy of the bank, but assured that efforts
were being made to tackle the problem. (NAN)
A 14 year-old boy, Terkura Unongo, has launched a website, www.theimongo.com,
for social networking. Though the website might not be as sophisticated
as the likes of Facebook, seems as a good invention coming from a young
Nigerian.
The early exposure that Terkura, an
eighth Grade Student of Hillcrest Middle School, Jos, Plateau State, had
to the Internet seems to have paid off. His parents gave him the
support to explore his talents in the digital world, and provided him
with gadgets. As a result of this he opened his first e-mail address at
eight, joined Facebook two years after and other popular social networks
in quick succession.
Apart from the fact that his parents
gave him the support to explore his talents in the digital world, his
computer science teacher also inspired him.
Terkura, who hails from Benue State,
says, “Well, I think I became IT-savvy right from the day I started
using a computer, as my parents provided the atmosphere for me to
acquire various computer devices. But my potentials got sharpened in
2011 when my computer teacher basically showed me the fun in HTML (Hyper
Text Markup Language).
“It was during a class where we were
told to make a website based on any topic of our choice, he taught the
class the basics, e.g. images, colours, fonts, etc. of the language and I
was challenged to go on and further my knowledge on the language.”
He explains that after being fascinated
by the workings of various social networks, coupled with the knowledge
of programming languages he had acquired, he felt he could also make a
difference by starting a social network of his own.
According to him, the name, “Imongo”, is
taken from the Tiv native dialect which simply means, “Gathering,” He
explains that he picked the name because he feels it really described
his main objective of connecting people to enable them to meet one
another, keep in touch with those they already know, and make new
friends at the same time staying entertained and informed.
He adds that he was fascinated by what
he could do with HTML so he immediately decided to learn Cascading Style
Script and other languages, including JavaScript, Java, and VB. He
created various websites for school projects, and for fun though never
published them.
“I felt I could do something positive,
and then I decided to create something that would impact the lives of
potential members from all over the world. So I went on to work on Imongo, and I am still working on it to take the online social experience to a whole new level.
“I started work on the Imongo in
May 2012, and made it public in early August, and received over 300
members in less than three months. I built the Video Chat feature using a
partner called, TokBox. I had no official guide, I used my current knowledge of scripting languages and the Internet to guide me.”
A visit by our correspondent to the site
shows that the network is not only a platform for making friends but
one where members can also stay updated with news bordering on
entertainment, where members keep up to date with latest gist, and
gossips locally and internationally, and also stay entertained with
music, videos, pictures and tech reviews.
The membership strength of the network
currently stands at 1,258 and the site is designed such that intending
members can be a part of it by joining through Facebook or by simply
signing up with an e-mail address and a password. An online forum and a
blog is also embedded on the network. A check on the site shows that 30
topics ranging from religion, politics, sports and entertainement have
come up for discussion on the site’s forum.
Terkura, who would be 15 on July 4, says
his role model is Microsoft founder, Bill Gates, adding that he is
targeting a million members on his site by 2014.
“I would like to master Java, C++, PHP
and other languages that would enable me to take on future projects. I
am hoping to attain one million members by 2014. And if the need for
more bandwidth, storage space, and more servers to take on a huge
population of members become necessary, it is possible for Imongo to purchase more,” he says.
Terkura’s 77-year-old father, Paul, told
our correspondent that right from age four, his son had always insisted
that he is presented with various gadgets as birthday gifts. He said at
some point he was at first scared that his IT inclination could
distract him from his academics.
“There was a time that I became worried
and her mother and I tried to discourage him. We felt that he was
spending too much time after school on the computers and gadgets that we
buy for him on his birthdays.
“But, he assured us that he was taking
his academics seriously and when we realised that we was not doing
badly, we encouraged him and guided him to achieve his dreams in the IT
world.”
Paul advises parents not to be
over-protective while guiding their children in what they learn. “Once
the activities they are engaged in is adding to their knowledge, I think
we parents should give them a chance and encourage them,” he adds.
Police say they have arrested a Mississippi man
in connection with the poison envelopes sent to President Obama and a US
senator.
Two letters containing the
potentially deadly poison ricin sent to President Barack Obama and a US
senator are related, the FBI has said.
The letters to Mr Obama and Roger Wicker have Memphis, Tennessee, postmarks and the same date - April 8.
The bureau said both say: "To see a wrong and not expose it, is to
become a silent partner to its continuance." They are signed: "I am KC
and I approve this message."
The FBI said it was pursuing investigative leads to determine who sent the letters.
Senator Roger Wicker of Mississippi has been assigned a security detail
Earlier, Senator Claire McCaskill claimed authorities have a suspect in mind for the Wicker case, but no one has been charged.
Meanwhile, Senator Carl Levin said a worker at his regional office in Saginaw, Michigan, had received a suspicious letter.
He said: "The letter was not opened, and the staffer followed the
proper protocols for the situation, including alerting the authorities,
who are now investigating.
"We do not know yet if the mail presented a threat. I'm grateful for my
staff's quick response and for government personnel at all levels who
are responding."
A firefighter enters a US government mail facility in Maryland
In Arizona, a suspicious letter containing an oily substance that was
sent to the Phoenix office of Senator Jeff Flake caused a brief scare
before the mail was tested and found to be harmless.
The FBI said preliminary tests on suspicious substances in the two
earlier letters sent to Mr Obama and Mr Wicker indicated it was ricin.
Secret Service spokesman Ed Donovan said the letter to Mr Obama,
received on Tuesday, was intercepted at a facility away from the White
House.
The letter to Mississippi Republican Mr Wicker was also intercepted at an off-site mail facility.
Tensions have been high in Washington and across the US since the
deadly bombings on Monday at the Boston Marathon that killed three
people and injured more than 170.
The FBI said there was no indication of a connection to the marathon attacks.

A letter is intercepted at a remote facility a day after another letter sent to a US senator is confirmed to contain ricin.
A letter with a “suspicious substance” has been sent to President Barack Obama, says the US Secret Service.
Secret Service spokesman Ed Donovan says the letter was intercepted
at a facility away from the White House. He says the letter was received
Tuesday.
The development comes a day after lawmakers said a separate letter
was mailed to a US senator that tested positive for poisonous ricin.
Another senator said police have a suspect in mind.
Tensions have been high in Washington and across the US since the
deadly bombings on Monday at the Boston Marathon that killed three
people and injured more than 170.

Basic Salary (BS) = N2,484,245.50
Hardship Allowance: 50% of Basic S...alary = N1,242,122.75
Constituency allowance: 200% of BS = N4,968,509.00
One off payments (Severance gratuity): 300% = N7,452,736.50
Motor Vehicle Allowance: 400% of BS = N9,936,982.00
Total per MONTH = N29, 479, 749.00.
All this, excluding other financial scams that go on in the Lower and
Upper houses of Legislature are what they earn on a monthly basis. And
in case you have no clue, Nigerian politicians are the most well-paid in
the WORLD. Do I see someone putting up campaign posters already?
Please pass the message to every Nigerian, and citizens of the world
will get to see the sort of decay and the extent of man's inhumanity to
man from the perspective of leadership.
It is about time well
meaning Nigerians wake up from their coma-like deep slumber and hold

We
have got from good authorities from the Adenuga Towers that some
alleged 'redundant' Glo ambassadors may be dropped by the telecoms
giants and be replaced with new and promising artistes.
A source, who begged not to be named, reliably informed us that Mike
Adenuga is not happy with some Nollywood stars who are on his payroll
and have not been 'too active'.
"Oga is not happy with some
Nollywood stars who rake millions of naira yet they don't bring value to
the Glo brand," the source sequel to us.
We gathered that
those that may be affected are Monalisa Chinda and Desmond Elliot. It
was also learnt that Glo has not informed them about the development.
The source said that the number of those to be dropped are close to
five but only Monalisa and Desmond's names were revealed to us.
Those that will replace them are known to us already and are singers
including Lagbaja. They will be unveiled in few days in Lagos.
Recall that Glo dropped Kate Henshaw and Jim Iyke as its brand
ambassadors few years ago when it signed Odunlade Adekola and Kunle
Afolayan as ambassadors.

A 20-year-old
Nigerian, Favour Odozor, has emerged as the youngest with the Commercial
Pilot Licence (CPL) in both Nigeria and South Africa.

Mr. Odozor who graduated alongside 15 other trained pilots at the
Afrika Union Aviation Academy (AUAA), Mafikeng, South Africa on Saturday
was described as the new hope of the African aviation industry.
Capt. Allan Roebuck, Director of AUAA, told the News Agency of
Nigeria (NAN) in Johannesburg that Mr. Odozor completed all the 37
flying procedures in record time.
“The academy is proud of this young Nigerian, with the award of
licence and certificate to him. Today, I can say he is the youngest
commercial licence pilot in both Nigeria and South Africa.
“I cannot say now if he is the youngest African to attain that
record, but I’m sure he is the youngest in South Africa and Nigeria,’’
he said.
The AUAA director noted that it requires a lot of hard work, focus,
punctuality and discipline to be trained as a commercial pilot.
“It is not enough to be academically sound to be a good pilot. It
requires focus, punctuality, and discipline to get the commercial
licence and certificate.
“It has been a long road for the group of qualified pilots to obtain
their licences. With the award of certificate, they can fly commercial
planes,’’ Mr. Roebuck said.
He said the new pilots underwent two years of rigorous training and 37 flying procedures.

On his part, Mr. Odozor said he had always dreamt of becoming a pilot.
“Flying a plane has been my childhood dream, and I am happy today that I’m a licensed commercial pilot at the age of 20.
“I never expected myself to be the youngest Nigerian to get the
commercial pilot licence, not to talk about in an advanced country like
South Africa. I was just pursuing my childhood dream of being a pilot.
“But I thank God that I have now made history, as a record licensed
commercial pilot in both Nigeria and South Africa,’’ Mr. Odozor said.
He said his immediate plan was to go for his instrument type and rating courses.
“Aviation training is very wide. This is just the beginning. My
immediate plan is to enrol for my instrument type rating and Boeing 737
training courses,’’ Mr. Odozor said.
Mr. Odozor has equalled the record set by Ed Gardner, a Briton, who
obtained his commercial pilot licence at the age of 20 in 2008.
Before heading for South Africa for training, the Nigerian attended
Uchenna Secondary School in Owerri, the Imo State capital, graduating in
2009.
The
late veteran actor, Justus Esiri was finally laid to rest on Friday at
his hometown in Delta State. The town of Oria-Abraka, where the late
Esiri hailed from, witnessed the visit of top entertainment stars.
Some Delta State political and society big-wigs attended the burial to pay their last respects to the fallen film icon.
Richard Moje Damijo well known as RMD, led other stars to the burial.
Dr Sid, who is the son of late Esiri, was in hand to receive top
Nigerian stars who came for the event.

Enoch
Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God,
has justified his purchase of a private jet saying it is necessary for
his work.
Mr. Adeboye, one of
the most respected Christian leaders in Nigeria and the head of the
Redeemed Church that has millions of members across 160 countries,
stated this in an interview with global news channel, Aljazeera.
The pastor said “there are things you need,” to perform the task he does as the general overseer.
“When you have to oversee churches in 160 countries, you can’t do that
on a bicycle,” he said in response to a specific question on whether he
needed to have acquired a private jet.
Though considered unique
in his simple appearance and un-flamboyant lifestyle, Mr. Adeboye is
one of the increasing numbers of Pentecostal pastors that have acquired
private jets, leading to condemnations by some Nigerians.
The
other private jet acquiring pastors include David Oyedepo, the head of
the Living Faith Church Worldwide; and Ayo Oritsejafor, the current
President of the Christian Association of Nigeria.
Despite
presiding over churches with hundreds of thousands of poor people, they
have all argued that they need the private jets for God’s work.
