Why Do Men Think Women's Lives Cannot Go On Without Marriage?

Photo: Why Do Men Think Women's Lives Cannot Go On Without Marriage?

SERIOUSLY? WHY?

Why on earth do you people think that women will keel over and die if they don't get married?

Why do you think women are just dying to get married or get you hooked?

Day after day on Nairaland I see posts by men that talk about how some female celebrity is approaching her 30's and is not married or how some other ladies will never get married because of one reason or another as if these women told you that their lives cannot continue without marriage.

Why on earth do you people think Nigerian women are desperate to get married to you?

See eh, the reason why majority of women seek marriage is because of societal pressure from people that cannot mind their business and because they want to have kids that will not be called bastards so you better understand that fact.

Marriage hardly benefits women (except the very few lucky ones that married considerate men) so why do you think they are dying for it?

Husbands come home from work and expect a hot/good meal which the wife is supposed to have prepared; it is hardly ever the other way round and it is very rare for a woman to come home and meet that her husband has prepared something for her to eat yet this is something men enjoy all the time.

Men just stay by the side and watch while their wives whine in pregnancy pains and face the pains of being pregnant for months; imagine the struggles of getting the kids ready for school while fighting early morning sickness.

She works to assist you and must still submit to your whims because society expects her to, and you still expect sexxual gratification when you come home not considering that she is probably exhausted.

Also, after marriage the husband clearly enjoys his life and freedom more than the woman. he can close from work and 'hang out with the boys' instead of going home and nobody queries him, but his wife can never try such, she goes home straight to take care of children, does the cooking and cleaning and what not. She even has to take a break from work sometimes to pick the kids from school and drop them at home then go back to work before finally returning home at the end of the day to carry house work solely on her head because the majority of Nigerian men are lazy asses that think that helping their wives at home is an abomination.

After all the stress of doing housework on her own and taking care of children on her own she starts to look old and tired and her husband complains that she is now too old and unattractive and without thinking twice, he begins to look outside at younger women because his wife is no longer attractive to him.

The worst part is that the children the women is taking care of, the children that she got so stressed for and losses her beauty after birthing are bearing the man's name. The children bear his name and not hers and yet the men will have the effrontery to say that their wife is no longer attractive after bearing these kids so they want to chase other women.

What do women even gain from marriages for heavens sake?

People expects them give up your identity and start bearing their husbands' name, the kids you spend your life taking care of bear his name and claim his home town when they are asked where they come from, the man is very very likely to cheat on his wife and maybe infect her with some STD or another and he will more likely than not, turn her into his slave by refusing to assist with house work while expecting her to contribute financially to the upkeep of the house.

In fact, if not that religions make childbearing outside marriage a sin and society(mostly men) treat unmarried girls like outcasts, I'm sure many women will not get married, who in their right senses will want to marry an overbearing, unhelpful, slave driving no-good lazy Bottom; which majority of men are, when they can just have their kids in peace and not have to worry about taking care of him?

All of you can relax, eh kwa?

Women are not in any hurry to become your slaves.

Enough of the marriage this and marriage talk you keep disturbing our ears with.

Lastly, I know that not all married men think that women are on earth to be their slaves, I know that some kind and thoughtful men still exist there so this message does not apply to them.

Kudos to the 2% of Nigerian men that still have respect for women and consider their feelings after marriage.

I salute you.

9 Reasons Why Some African Ladies End Up Single For Life .

 Photo: MUST READ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

9 Reasons Why Some African Ladies End Up Single For Life .

1. Many African/Nigerian ladies will end up singles for life because of media exposure- it is so disheartening how a lady will glue her eyes on a mobile phone from morning to night, only to raise it up to focus on television to watch another celebrity entertainment channel. Tell me, what else will dominate this lady’s mindset aside how to live a fake celebrity life being promoted on television channels?

2. Many African/Nigerian ladies now dislike cooking and home chores just because they had been totally brainwashed by movies showcasing men playing the role of women in a family, and due to excessive exposure to modern media that promotes gender-equality in a destructive way that’s aimed at destroying the unique African
family setting that made our previous African marriages everlasting and envious to the
westerns. Now, with this attitude, how do you expect a African man to desire to marry when he knows he is only buying more headache and trouble than helper for himself?

3. Excessive makeup turns most decent and serious-minded men off- if you have observed, you will discover that most men dislike excessive makeup, and more don’t even like it at all;reason they often times discourage their true loved ones to do away with it cos it speaks ill of a lady even though so many men will applaud
and complement you for looking like an Egyptian mummy. A slight makeup is okay; but if you are out for marriage, try always to look simple and natural, it will attract better men, decent and serious-minded, except you are still living in your high school life and not thinking towards marriage.

4. Stop Giving Your Number Out To Every Dick & Harry! No man would want to propose marriage to a lady whose phone is always talking and laughing with less serious calls. You may not be a playgirl, but he would judge you as one, and will likely flee at the slightest chance or disagreement.

5. You Don’t Bring Any Value Into The Life Of Men You Date or Are Dating- because your best friend married without contributing anything to the man that finally married her, doesn’t mean it will work for you that way. Think, work towards equipping yourself so that you can be a value and also add value to his life to convince him that you are worth committing to. Adding value to his life isn’t by giving him money, or
material gifts, nope…Good counsels, being his best friend, helping him attain his goals in life, lending him moral, mental and spiritual support, and by not just being a liability that only bring requests and problems to be solved.

6. Your Friends Run Your Life- how do you expect to find a husband when you still allow your clique of friends to be dictating which man you meet is worthy of your love and which is not? When will you wake up and face the fact that those your best friends even though they cherish you, wouldn’t want you to marry before
them or to marry the best man?

7. You Give Everything Out During Dating- As a single lady who has not been taken to the altar, you need to reserve some things for your husband to be, especially your body, respect it and preserve it at all cost. In the past, men rushed to marry to get certain things or privileges they had been constantly denied while being single. Such privileges include and not limited to: constant sex and companionship,
good food and tidied home, etc. But today, a single man gets even the best and of course more of constant sex, good food and excellent home-keeping more than his married counterparts, so tell me how the hell you want him to desire to marry you when you have given him virtually everything he desires from a wife while being his girlfriend? And the most painful part of it all is that he knows that you are prepared to cut down on sex supply, cooking, home-keeping, etc once he marries you, so why
would he not want you to remain his girlfriend for life?

8. You Package Yourself Wrongly- in your attempt to look sexy, adorable and maybe appealing to guys, you have derailed from appealing to appalling. In fact you look more whorish than modest; more distractive than attractive, and more disgusting than adorable. Your dressing style determines who gets attracted to you most times. If you dress high school, only high school-thinking guys will be attracted to you, and if you dress excessively sexy and provocative, only randy men will come to you for urgent satisfaction of their immediate sex urge, so don’t be fooled by media hyping of
certain kinds of dressing, they are meant for certain set of ladies you wouldn't like to be associated with, be careful. Remember, not all clothes that look sexy are good for a seriously searching for a soul mate single lady.

9. You Lack Manner, Character, Wisdom and Good Home Upbringing- definitely, your ‘hot girl’, ‘pretty girl’, ‘sexy girl’ looks will win you so many men; both the good, and the bad, but your inner beauty, your character and manner are the things that will determine whether any of those men would stay or run after accomplishing their evil missions. In order words, do away with nagging, being possessive, challenging with men in negative ways, the mentality of ‘what a man can do a woman can do better’, a lie devil has used to deceive and destroy so many ladies today, please do away
with it.

If you Identify with this LIKE. Hit SHARE and let all the LADIES you know to learn something from this.

Olamide 101: 7 lessons from Nigeria’s hottest rapper on how to become your own boss

I pray to God that I make it to heaven, for going through hell, let my success shame the devil’ – Olamide (Jesu o’kola feat Aduke, YBNL, 2012)
Before I start, can we agree Nigerian rapper Olamide Adedeji (not to be confused with the Soundcity TV exec) is the hottest Nigerian rapper right now? With over 10 hit collaborations in less than a year, chart topping singles from a critically-acclaimed album, ubiquitous guest appearances and cameos; it’s safe to say he is. No?
It didn’t start this way for ‘Badoo’ though – Olamide’s early days can be traced to many years back when he was still called G-Dog and would visit veteran urban sound producer ID Cabasa’s studio in Bariga, in his secondary school uniform.
With the CODED Tunes dynasty falling apart, (9ice had just left, Lord of Ajasa left to work with K Solo for his third album, 2Phat kind of stopped making music, Reminisce and Jah Bless signed with EDGE Records), the young energetic rapper was signed and re-christened ‘Olamide’. He also signed a management deal with Toni Payne and released a premature debut album ‘Rapsodi’ in 2011, thus his journey to absolute power began.
It’s 2013 and a lot of things have changed; what we can tell you is that Olamide’s career would have gone down the drain after his debut release if he hadn’t made power moves – the kind of moves only a boss (or a boss in the making) would make. Nigerian Entertainment Today details all these in a few points below…
1. GET YOURSELF A KICK ASS MANAGER
First thing Olamide did was fire Toni Payne whom he felt wasn’t doing much for his career right after his debut album release. The two parted ways controversially when Payne reportedly accused Olamide of performing and collecting performance fees without her knowledge. Olamide was then managed by 2Phat of CODED Tunes. After parting ways with ID Cabasa, he hired the services of Tony Nwakolor. Nwakolo, a very popular 30 something-year-old manager had failed with a now defunct Yes Records years back but in the process gained a lot of experience. Olamide is currently being managed by Nwkolo’s 1805 Entertainment.
2. AVIOD BEEF AND CONTROVERSY
Even when Olamide parted with Toni Payne and eventually CODED Tunes, he kept his thoughts on the matter on the low, never speaking to the press about it. He also didn’t discuss his partying ways or throw disses at them on his songs. He also has united with other Yoruba speaking rappers especially Reminisce (who seems to be his toughest competition), Base One and others. No stories of getting drunk, knocking any girl up or being photographed while sleeping with a university student. And oh yea, he stopped dissing 9ice too.
3. BUILD YOUR OWN EMPIRE
Olamide is currently building his empire – starting with setting up his own label – YBNL (Yahoo Boy, No Laptop which relates to a hustler, whose work ethics matches that of an internet fraudster), merging forces with rappers Kida Kudz (winner of the Peak Talent Show, season 2) and 2Kriss. He has also got for himself a new producer Mr Pheelz who is credited with giving him the new sound on his ‘YBNL’ album.
4. DO IT BIG
Why buy a 9mm gun to kill a 20 feet giant when you could buy a rocket launcher? Olamide didn’t leave any stone unturned when recording his sophomore album YBNL– sticking with a little known producer Mr Pheelz (with some help from big brother Samklef), Olamide tightened his guest appearance list, featuring the likes of A-List acts Tiwa Savage, Davido, B-List acts Kayswitch, Dammy Krane and street-appealing acts rappers Reminisce, BaseOne, Minus and Aduke.
5. APPEAL TO THE STREETS
Since Dagrin’s death in 2010, there’s not been a rapper who has appealed to the public with street music, more than Olamide and Reminisce (mega props to Illbliss, Vector, Erigga and Seriki). With street appealing songs like ‘First of all’, ‘Ilefo Illuminati, ‘Voice of the Streets’ and ‘Young Erikina’, Badoo has won the hearts of the streets again.
6. APPEAL TO THE FEMALE FAN BASE
We can’t leave the ladies out. Olamide also knows this, so with tracks like ‘Unite’ and ‘Stupid love’, he keeps gaining their attention as the DJ and radio stations keep spinning those singles.
7. WORK OVERTIME
Truth be told – Nigerian rappers are very lazy, or how would you explain a popular rapper releasing only two singles in a whole year? (Although A&Rs would explain he/she is trying to push and penetrate the market). Olamide is going the old fashioned way (and most secure route), by working his ass off (like 2pac, Notorious BIG, Lil Wayne, Drake, 50 Cent), recording and releasing multiple materials. A week after dropping his successful YBNL album, Olamide dropped a new song ‘Rayban Abacha’, announcing the release of his new mixtape ‘Still on Streets’ dropping in 2013. He has gone on to drop two other singles.

5 Reasons To Listen To M.I

IMG_7205
1) He is good (rather great)- Everyone-and their mama- knows that M.I is a good rapper. OK, everyone knows that M.I Abaga is a great rapper. Since his debut in 2008, M.I has achieved greatness with every project that he has been involved in. His classic Talk About It made non-rap fans start listening to more rap songs. That is greatness on its own. 5 years after he still has the rap game in his palm. From awards, shutting down Alaba and stellar performances M.I is great…probably the greatest.
2) He is king (and Chairman)- M.I is king. M.I is the boss of this rap game. Rappers will come and go but M.I will continue to sit at the throne. He has never fallen off and he always dictates the rap game. He is the proverbial bar that other rappers use to judge themselves. A new style or flow by M.I will quickly become the norm in a matter of months. His flow is so regal and his demeanor on the mic is so royal that other rappers have no choice to bow down in the presence of greatness.
3) Perfect track record- M.I has an impeccable track record. The short black boy has released 4 solo projects within the space of 5 years and all of them have been certified as either ‘classic’ or ‘successful’. His two mixtapes Illegal Music 1 & Illegal Music 2 have greatly influenced the manner in which mixtapes are conceptualized and promoted in the country. As for his LPs Talk About It and M.I 2 are arguably the most successful rap albums in the history of Nigerian music. Not even Kanye West or Drake have dropped such great projects in a short number of time.
4) The best of Nigerian rap- M.I’s music possesses a dual core- it appeals to both rap lovers and pop lovers. Most rappers have trouble balancing the two sides, as a matter of fact it is seen as the holy grail of rappers. Many rappers never achieve this balance. Only greats can appeal to both sides and M.I is one of them. He is the biggest rapper that undeniably has this rare talent in Nigeria. This of course makes him the best of Nigerian rap…but of course you already knew that.
5) Who else?- O.K who else do you want to listen to than M.I? The other options aren’t exactly in his lane, he is years ahead of the pack. M.I is a tested brand that is known to deliver and rock your speakers. He has been known to dish out the good stuff with dropping the ball once so why change or experiment? The only rappers we suggest you listen to apart from M are Ice Prince and Jesse Jagz who both have the Choc Boi X-Factor. Go figure. Choc Bois Nation.

Mobile Phone And Its Battery Life. #A MUST READ

Its high time to informed you that the causes of your battery draining less than an hour/not
reaching it potentials after being fully charged has nothing to do with the manufacturer of
the battery or mobile phone most times.

In this article, you will learn some tips about your battery. The things you need to do to
your battery before charging, during charging and after charging.

1. If you just bought a new phone/new battery, keep it connected to the mains (wall outlet)
for between 6 to 10 hours at a stretch. Ignore the “battery full” notification that you get
after 2 to 3 hours. The battery is not yet full, so keep it connected.

2. Do not use the vibrate function on your phone as it is a big drain on power. It may
sound inconvenient but you just have to do it. Create different profile that is one should be
“VIBRATE THEN RING” and the other should be “RING ONLY”. So when you are outdoor,
set it as “VIBRATE THEN RING” probably for those who doesn’t know when their phone
rings while it is in their pocket. I suggest you use hands free if you can’t use those mention
above, but ensure to return it to “RING ONLY” when you are indoor.

3.IF PHONE/BATTERY WAS JUST PURCHASED;TO GET MAXIMUM USAGE: Charge your
battery only when it is completely empty. Note: if you don’t give your battery the extended
charge(6-10 hours), it will take longer for it to reach the full potential- or it never will. Once
it get used to not being fully charged that way, the rest is history.
Every now and then, let your battery run out completely till the phone shutdown. Switch it
back on and then immediately plug in the charger till it is fully charged. By this,2 or 3 hours
of charging is okay. Repeat this process about once a week or more.

4.Note that leaving background application running drains your battery, so if you know you
don’t need them, don’t run them at that moment.

5. Always give the battery a full charge, avoid partial full charge if you can.

6. Reducing the volume of warning tones improves your battery life

7. Turn your phone off when you are not using it. E.g. while sleeping. (This depends on
individual).

8. Turn off the wifi features of your phone when not in use.

9. Always keep the battery contacts clean. You may clean the edges using spirit.

10. Keep the phone away from heat and magnetic objects.

11. Reduce the brightness of your phone if possible.

12. Over charging of battery reduces its life.

13. Always use original charger for charging the phone.

14. if the mobile has a camera with flash, switch off the flash when not in use

15. Avoid restarting the phone too often as it can severely hamper the battery life.

16. Turn off your GPS if you do not need it for navigation or geo-tagging of pictures or videos.

17. Turn off your Bluetooth/Infrared if you don’t need them for either headset connection or other devices.

18. Also, turn off 3G mode and stick to 2G(i.e UMTS/DUAL MODE TO GSM MODE). Do this only when you don’t need a fast data connection or video calls.

19. Always properly switch off your mobile(Never directly remove battery)

20 Use automatic network selection option instead of manual selection.

21. Use hands free instead of speaker/ringer to listen to music.

22. Reduce the back light/keypad light time

23. Do not use any flash or animation as wallpaper

24. Always keep off screen saver

25. It’s also not advisable to use and charge at the same time

26. Avoid the use of car chargers as it damage your battery bit by bit. Remember, the current coming from the car is not regulated sometimes.

27. Avoid the use of desktop chargers. Its only meant for boosting batteries that are completely dead and cant be powered on by mere charger at first.

28. In conclusion, there is no problem in charging the battery often although you can improve battery indicator and battery life by discharging it every 15-20 minutes in order to recalibrate it.
29 Poor Networks as well affect the battery lives of mobile phones.

30 Free feel to add more of what u know can help others improve their battery life.

Top super foods for men, women

Tomato farm

They boost sperm production, aid the libido, prevent hair loss, improve skin elasticity and help in maintaining overall well-being when eaten.
Researchers call them super foods. This is because of the numerous advantages that are inherent in them when eaten on a regular basis.
And because of the near wonders they do in the body, nutritionists call them ‘gender-friendly.’ In other words, the foods perform certain peculiar functions in the sexes, such that they help the bodies to stay healthy while also aiding biological needs.
The Head of Oncology Department, Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Idi-Araba, Prof. Remi Ajekigbe, notes that the recourse to western diet is one reason why cancers have become common in the country.
He recommends the consumption of simple, natural foods, which, he says, are rich, diverse and nutritional, compared to processed meals which are readily on offer in many eateries that dot every nook and cranny.
Ajekigbe warns that processed meals are dangerous because of their high level of sodium that can lead to hypertension, saturated fats that clog the arteries and huge number of calories that contributes to obesity — a leading factor for diabetes.
The oncologist’s view tallies with the result of some researches published in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute. This being the case, which foods should you eat, whether as a woman or as a man?
Top on the list is tomatoes, which contains lycopene. The natural chemical is also found in peppers and watermelons. Researchers say lycopene may be effective in preventing breast cancer among women. Furthermore, they say, evidence suggests that the powerful antioxidant can help reduce risk of heart disease — the leading cause of death in women.
In men, lycopene may reduce the risk of colorectal cancer, lower cholesterol and reduce the risk of heart disease — the leading cause of death in men. Research has also shown that men who frequently eat foods rich in lycopene may drastically reduce their risk of developing prostate cancer.
Again, in men, a diet rich in tomatoes may reduce the risk of having a stroke. Indeed, in a study of 1,031 men, Finnish researchers discovered that those with the most lycopene in their bloodstream were the least likely to have a stroke.
Consequently, the Stroke Association has called for more research into why lycopene seems to have this effect.
Next on the list are cranberries, which are available in leading supermarkets all over major cities across the country. Researchers claim that regular consumption of cranberries can reduce the risks of breast cancer and heart disease in women. The fruit also prevents and cures urinary tract infections such as cystitis, which is eight times more likely to occur in women than men.
As for men, blueberry is it. Blueberries have been linked to a reduced risk of prostate cancer, what with their high levels of proanthocyanidins. Studies also suggest that the fruit may be effective in reducing risk of heart disease, Type 2 diabetes and age-related memory loss — a condition more prevalent in men than women.
In terms of animal protein, salmon has a multitude of positive health benefits for women. Not only is it rich in iron — which, experts say, is integral to the diets of premenopausal women — but it is packed with omega-3 fatty acids, known for their mood-enhancing effects. Nutritionists say omega-3 can help beat depression, which affects twice as many women as men; and prevent mood swings. Better still, when eaten during pregnancy, salmon can boost babies’ intelligence.
In men, omega-3 fatty acids have been linked to lowered levels of ‘bad’ cholesterol and can also reduce risk of heart disease, colorectal cancer, prostate cancer and depression.
Walnuts are in season and they are readily available. Also packed with omega-3 fatty acids, antioxidants and phytosterols, walnuts may help to reduce women’s risk of developing breast cancer, while the high omega-3 content may also help bone health, arthritis pain and depression. Walnuts also contain many nutrients such as calcium, magnesium and folic, all of which are essential for female health.
Nutritionists say magnesium, which is also found in spinach, relieves many of the physical symptoms of premenstrual syndrome which plagues women, while it also reduces swelling, breast tenderness, bloating and weight gain.
Brazil nuts hold the magic for men, as they are great for heart health and good skin. They are packed with selenium — a powerful antioxidant which studies say can boost sperm health and motility. Selenium is also good for lowering ‘bad’ cholesterol levels, preventing blood clots and lifting the mood.
The advertisers advise us to drink milk every day. Well, they may be right, as experts say milk is a great source of calcium, which, when combined with vitamin D (found in some varieties of milk and many fortified milk products), is not only good for preventing osteoporosis, but could ease, or prevent, symptoms of premenstrual syndrome.
For men suffering from hair loss, eggs may provide the perfect solution, nutritionists say. This is because eggs are an excellent source of protein, which is essential for hair growth, as well as being rich in biotin (vitamin B7). They say egg yolks are also a good source of iron, which some studies have suggested can alleviate hair loss that can be caused by anaemia.
Oats are not only great for heart health, digestion and blood pressure levels, they also contain vitamin B6, which can help prevent PMS and mood swings; and folic acid, which is important for women to consume before and during pregnancy to prevent birth defects in babies. For women over 50 who are likely to suffer hypertension, oats is an excellent way of lowering the possibilities.
For men, oats are good for general wellbeing and can also help alleviate depression.
Broccoli and other cruciferous vegetables like cabbage and sprouts contain a strong cancer-fighting chemical, sulphoraphane, which researchers say may reduce men’s risk of developing cancers of the bladder, prostate and colorectum.
Broccoli is also good for women because it fights bladder cancer, which is more common among women than men.
Experts claim that garlic boosts heart health, and for males who regularly eat it, it could help lower their cholesterol levels. Researchers also say regular consumption of garlic and onions could help lower men’s risk of developing prostate cancer.
Easterners are familiar with oysters, which they use in soups like Edika-ikong and banga, among others. Yet, they may not be aware that oysters are the highest natural source of zinc — an essential requirement for men’s fertility and sexual health. Zinc helps men to maintain healthy testosterone levels and super sperm production.
Now, these foods are available and could be eaten separately or in combination. The choice is yours.
