When Chris Brown
isn’t being pressured into a mediocre apology, tweeting and deleting or
delivering controversial acceptance speeches, the singer actually has
something positive and real to say. On this episode of MTV’s “This Is
How I Made It,” the 23-year-old crooner reveals details about life
before making it big and his musical influences that have been pivotal
in his career.
Despite money issues growing up, Chris’ mom encouraged his participation in sports, drama and theater. She was able to keep him out the streets by keeping him in church. “The fist time I performed, wow, I was in church. I was about 9 or 10. The song I sung was “Eyes On The Sparrow,” admitted Chris. Audio from the performance played in the background, revealing a deeper adolescent register.
Chris, who isn’t exactly seen as a good guy in the eyes of the media, may have softened a few hearts with this interview. Good stuff Chris!
