For few weeks now, there have been rumours circling around, suggesting that Charly Boy might not be returning as a judge for the third season of the popular talent show Nigerian Idol, and we know the reason why…
After the launch and unveiling of season three’s theme titled ‘Voices of Tomorrow‘, tabloids reported that Charly Boy had demanded a sum of N30m from Optima Media Group – the show’s producers, to sign up for the next edition of the talent show.
Charly Boy who joined Nigerian Idol in its second season, replacing Chocolate City boss Audu Maikori, was however missing at the launch which was attended by the other two judges – Jefferey Daniels and Yinka Davies. NET gathered that he is currently in London.
When NET contacted the eccentric
entertainer asking him about the on-going controversy, he said
Idols producers had not made the necessary arrangements.
‘Yesoooo, dem nvr bring all d tins I asked for, I am in London, will be bk dis Friday. Na dem sabi‘, Charly Boy said in a text message.
Auditions are to start on October 13, 2012 in these five cities – Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Benin and newly added Owerri.
The show will begin broadcast on cable and terrestrial TV on December 15, 2012.
