Nwadi Humphrey Ikechukwu,
popularly known by his stage name as PhreyTunez, is a Nigerian Pop,
R&B & highlife artist based out of the United States. Although
his musical aspirations started at a very young age, it was not until he
started singing at the age of 13 as a part of St. Rita’s Catholic
Church choir that his talent became acknowledged by others. His passion
for music has since been influenced by artists like 2face Idibia, Kelly
Handsome, P Square and ASA.
Though his parents are both from
Enugu State in Nigeria, he attended Queen A.D Primary School and
Apostolic missionary high school in Kano state. In 2010, he relocated to
the United States to further his education by majoring in S.I.S and
sound Engineering in New York City.
He is a polyglot artist who can
write and sing in Nigerian Pigin, English, Igbo, Yoruba and Hausa
languages. He has worked with artists like Timaya, Joe El from kennis
Music, Bill Cee and J-plus Okiri. Also, he has currently been invited to
participate in the 2013 Kor Foundation music project titled “Stand Up
For African Children” which features New York All Stars.
